Electronic waste or e-waste is loosely discarded, broken electronic items or products like fans, heaters, mobile phones, laptops, hard drives and much more. These electronic items, if not disposed of properly, can be dangerous due to the toxic chemicals in them, further leading to adverse human effects and environmental pollution.
E-waste contains valuable materials as well as hazardous toxins, which make the efficient material recovery and safe recycling of e-waste extremely important for economic value as well as environmental and human health.

Why there is a need to find solutions to solve this problem?
E-Waste is a growing concern after the United States and China, INDIA is the world’s third largest producer of e-waste, producing 3.23 million tonnes per year with a recycling rate of just 1%.
We are solving this problem because we want to make sure that the value of this waste is not getting wasted. Since, it consists of precious metals that can be extracted by recycling it. According, to a study India can extract gold worth more than 100 crores from the e-waste.

E-Genie, a dynamic aggregator platform centered on responsible e-waste disposal empowering eco-conscious individuals and colleges to recycle their e-waste and recognizing them as a part of E-Genie community.
It does this by bridging the gap between individuals and colleges who have e-waste with authorized recyclers responsible for e-waste disposal. This would be done by incorporating an existing pickup drop service.
